Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Talent Acquisition and Retention Adviser to join our People and Culture team in the For-purpose health promotion sector. Our mission is to support, empower and campaign for all Victorians living with or at risk of diabetes. Our dedicated team members promote health and wellbeing awareness through education programs, donations social enterprise, NDSS Call Centre services, community events and fundraising activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for attracting, recruiting, and retaining talented individuals who align with our values, vision and purpose. Reporting to the Head: People and Culture, this exciting role is a mixture of operational and strategic HR activities in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. With no direct reports, this role requires a genuine self-starter who thrives on achieving positive outcomes for others and themselves.
Role Responsibilities:
- Work with Head of P&C to implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent in the health promotion sector.
- Collaborate with hiring managers on role requirements, position descriptions, workforce and succession planning requirements.
- Draw on your existing sourcing-strategies skills to attract talent in the For-Purpose sector.
- Assess the talent to fulfil future role requirements and cultural fit with the potential to thrive!
- Demonstrate exceptional candidate care throughout the recruitment, onboarding and induction processes to promote our respected employer brand.
- Manage the recruitment, onboarding and induction process for new hires using Employment Hero HR and Payroll modules (including ATS).
- Implement employee retention strategies to enhance employee engagement and minimise turnover.
- Work with Team Leads to promote a learning culture where professional development is implemented through on-the-job activities and skills sharing.
-Coaching and advising hiring managers on relevant policies and legislative/ EEO requirements.
Skills and Attributes
- Proven experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist or similar role within mid-senior level positions.
-Adept at using HRIS software - Employment Hero HR highly regarded.
- Excellent knowledge of employee lifecycle interactions - sourcing, interviewing, onboarding, inductions and learning management, etc.
-Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders (hiring managers).
-Effective multi-tasking skills while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
-Demonstrated ability in designing/implementing retention programs that promote employee engagement.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
-Not afraid to challenge the status quo, to achieve better outcomes for our diabetes communities.
Qualifications and Experience
-Bachelor's degree in HR management or related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant health sector experience.
-Proven track record of Talent Acquisition and Retention success with entry level, mid-senior and senior roles across diverse functions.
-Knowledge of retention strategies, employment laws and regulations in Australia, is highly desirable.
