About the team and role

The People & Culture (P&C) Team are seeking an individual with strong in-house experience in recruitment at a senior level, who can also lend their subject matter expertise and insights to a range of talent related initiatives.

Working closely within a small recruitment team, this role delivers a consistent, fair and transparent approach to recruitment that is in line with the public sector best practice recruitment guidelines. This role will manage end-to-end recruitment processes, ensuring a positive experience for Hiring Managers and candidates, and provide advice and solutions that supports the business objectives of the VGSO with current and future targeted recruitment initiatives.

This is a role where adding value, building relationships and being the subject matter expert is key to success.

Key responsibilities
  • Undertake business partnering across all VGSO Branches working closely with Hiring Managers and Leaders to establish an in-depth understanding of the Branches, workforce planning and resource forecasting to secure and build a reliable talent acquisition horizon and talent pool
  • Manage high volume Student/Law Graduate recruitment programs within tight timelines and required guidelines
  • Deliver high quality and timely talent acquisition and selection, with the best fit people, with the required experience, skills and capabilities across the VGSO including legal support, corporate services and legal positions (including senior legal and executive level positions)
  • Ensure the organisation is compliant with internal processes / legislative frameworks and offer best practice recruitment advice and solutions
  • Evaluate and analyse existing talent strategies, processes and assessment and selection tools to create efficiency and provide recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to strategic and operational P&C and VGSO projects
Skills and experience
  • Experience in high volume Student/Graduate recruitment programs will be highly regarded
  • Experience within a legal, professional services and/or government environment is highly desirable
  • Exceptional relationship building and stakeholder management abilities
  • Excellent understanding of end-to-end recruitment processes
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline will be highly regarded
