About us:

Our Mental Health and Substance Use Service offers community-based support, running intervention-focused groups and delivering relapse prevention programs at the McAuley Centre, Mater Mental Health, Waratah. We also provide individualised programs. Typically a two-week process, we are now streamlining to a one-week process for greater efficiency. We are currently undergoing an exciting transformation, and we have a unique opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join us and be a key part of this journey.

You'll be supported by a multidisciplinary team, including two senior nurses (CNS2) within our group. We offer a comprehensive orientation package with a buddy system, providing supernumerary days, participation in group activities, and thorough assessments. Our robust orientation includes both written materials and practical observation, where you'll first observe and then be observed.

Join our close-knit, supportive team where we value camaraderie and enjoy organising entertaining group activities such as trivia nights and birthday celebrations. While experience in mental health nursing is preferred, we welcome candidates who align with our team's values and are eager to learn and grow in their career.

About the role:

Our in-reach service connects inpatient and community mental health with the broader Mental Health Service, offering specialised and nuanced care

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading and facilitating group sessions
  • Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments
  • Performing in-reach evaluations
  • Guiding family interactions
  • Coordinating holistic care plans

Benefits:

  • 4 weeks annual leave (pro-rata for part time employees)
  • Superannuation contributions
  • Salary packaging options
  • Fitness Passport
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for staff and family members
  • Opportunity to work and collaborate with a range of non-clinical and clinical professionals

About you:

You are an enthusiastic individual dedicated to mental health nursing, driven by a passion to make a meaningful impact in our community. As an energetic team player, you thrive in collaborative environments while also excelling independently when needed.

Requirements:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work purposes.

Additional Information:

  • This position is full time; however, part time/job share arrangements may also be considered.
