This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2024

Do you have the passion for teaching?

Pinjarra Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Health and Physical (HPE) teacher to join our team.

We are seeking a teacher who excels in engaging and motivating students through creating a safe and inclusive learning environment. The ability to differentiate the curriculum to support individual student progress is important, as is the capacity to form strong relationships with students, colleagues, parents/caregivers and the network of external stakeholders and partners who support the school.

As an HPE Teacher at Pinjarra SHS, you would join our dedicated, experienced team to develop, review and deliver the HPE curriculum. Experience in Outdoor Education, specialist AFL and or netball programs will be highly desirable.

Since 1921, Pinjarra SHS has proudly served the community of Pinjarra and its surrounding region. The school provides a blend of traditional and innovative programs designed to prepare students from Year 7 – 12 for higher education, vocational training and employment. Pinjarra SHS has a clear focus on High Quality Teaching to facilitate engaged and purposeful learning for all students. Central to this is a commitment to be trained in Classroom Management Strategies (CMS), Instructional Strategies for Engagement (ISE), and Peer Observation and Feedback. We are a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) school that promotes Tolerance, Respect, Unity and Embracing Opportunities as our core values. Positive behaviour is modelled by staff and expected of all students.

Pinjarra SHS also has a strong focus on increasing student aspiration, participation and achievement through the development of enterprise skills such as problem-solving, communication, collaboration and entrepreneurship. These skills are embedded in our instructional model and form part of the overall strategy to develop confidence and capacity in our students during their secondary school years. Underpinning this is our ongoing commitment to develop Growth Mindsets in our staff and students through targeted Professional Learning and action research.
