We have an exciting opportunity to join our creative Arts team at our Duncraig Campus for an innovative, imaginative and collaborative Secondary Visual Art Teacher (Full Time/1.0FTE) to commence 15th July 2024 (Term 3, 2024) until the end of Term 3, 2025 (Maternity leave replacement).
THE ROLE
The successful candidate will be a proactive member of the Arts team and deliver and work alongside the Visual Arts staff to provide an exciting Visual Arts education to all students as well as a proven track-record teaching Visual Arts, meeting all requirements of the Western Australian Curriculum to students from Years 7-12 including ATAR and General courses.
The successful candidate will also have experience of demonstrating high levels of skill and technical competence across a range of art practices, demonstrating a desire for professional growth reflecting upon their teaching practice in addition to proven experience planning, coordinating and realising a full-scale exhibition showcasing student artwork for the School and wider community.
Experience marking the ATAR Visual Art WACE practical (production) and/or written exams will be highly regarded.

Selection Criteria
- Appropriate teaching qualifications and current registration with Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA)
- Hold a current Working With Children card
- Experience in and demonstration of high levels of expressive and technical comeptence in a range of art practices
- Experience teaching both the ATAR and General Visual Art courses
- Experience marking ATAR written and practical examinations (desirable but not essential)
- Experience in and a preparedness to contribute to the School’s camping, retreat and extra-curricular programs, including Cross Campus productions and other Arts Learning Area events
- High levels of skill in teaching, with a willingness to innovate in order to find better practices
- A passion for teaching
- A coherent philosophy of education for Secondary students, expressed in practice
- An excellent knowledge of contemporary educational issues and directions especially in his/her learning area
- Skills and experience in developing, implementing and evaluating curriculum
- Highly developed skills in the application of technology as a learning, teaching and management tool
- An ability to foster positive relationships with students, with a commitment to their personal growth
- Participation in appropriate professional contributions to the learning area beyond the School
- Willingness to positively and actively contribute to the Christian culture of the School
