Beldon PS is an Independent Public School, located in the northern suburbs. Current enrolment trends are approximately 320 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. As we share our school campus with Beldon Education Support Centre, we work closely together to provide a safe and inclusive environment for all students. In collaboration with our Chaplain, there is a strong emphasis on pastoral care for our staff and students. Our specialist programs include Visual Arts, Science, Digital Technology, Physical Education, and Indonesian.
Within every classroom our core learning is devoted to literacy and numeracy, as an integral part of every single day at school. A key focus area at our school is the implementation of the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework and enhancing our school community's understanding of Indigenous culture.
The suitable applicants should embrace our school improvement agenda. We seek staff members who will promote our school's moral purpose of 'Our staff and community connect to support students to become strong, thoughtful and independent individuals who accept, adapt, aspire and achieve'.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a dedicated educational team, connected by a strong vision that reflects our collective purpose, the community we serve and most importantly, the needs of our children. You will be part of a team focused on continuing to build a school culture that is positive, inclusive, and extends young minds. Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to work cooperatively with others to create and maintain a welcoming and vibrant environment for students and families is highly regarded. We are seeking staff members with a willingness and aspirations to take on additional roles beyond the classroom, including curriculum and school improvement leadership roles.
A focus on explicit teaching, high impact teaching strategies, and differentiated curriculum to meet each student at their point of need will be highly regarded. Suitable applicants should consistently implement whole school, evidence-based approaches in teaching and learning, ensuring students are at the centre of everything they do, bringing innovation and diverse learning experiences to every child. Applicants should provide proven capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as willingness to utilise classroom observation, feedback and coaching to continuously grow pedagogical skills.
Experience with Positive Behaviour Support, Talk 4 Writing, Talk 4 Reading, Sounds-Write, PLD, Origo, Numeracy Blocks and Literacy Blocks will be highly regarded. Ideally, applicants will display strong technological skills and provide evidence of integrating the use of Information Communication Technologies (ICT) into their classroom curriculum. A strong understanding of how to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is highly desirable.
