Crawford Public School is located in Doonside. The school currently has 417 students enrolled with 23% Aboriginal population (97 students) and approximately 53% of students from Non-English Speaking Backgrounds. The school has a positive partnership with the P and C and the Nurragingy Aboriginal Education Consultative Group. Crawford Public School values its commitment to a holistic education where every student is known valued and cared for. The school is focussed on the implementation of quality literacy and numeracy practices and invests in ongoing collaborative teacher professional learning. The support unit consists of 2 Multicat classes and one IM class with a range of students' special needs. The support unit focuses on each child as an individual and follows each child's Individual Education Plan.
Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students in a multistage K-6 setting with autism, behaviour difficulties, physical disabilities and moderate to mild intellectual disabilities.
Demonstrated classroom management skills and capacity to enhance student engagement through planned and evaluated Individual Education Plans that respond to the social, emotional, behavioural, academic and communication needs of all students.
Ability to contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture by demonstrating flexibility and willingness to adapt to students' individual needs and whole school practices.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team, building positive relationships with students, staff, parents, external agencies and members of the wider community.
