The Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) exists to meet the Nation's commitment to care for our veteran and defence service community-the men and women who have served Australia in times of war and conflict as well as peacetime. We do this through programs of care, compensation, commemoration, income support and Defence support services. The Incapacity, Combined Benefits and Permanent Impairment teams enable eligible clients to access compensation, health and other care services that promote and maintain self-sufficiency, well-being and quality of life.
As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team to deliver quality outcomes to the veteran community. You will coach your team to foster a high performance culture, including setting performance expectations, providing regular feedback, and completing performance reviews, ensuring that remedial action is implemented when required.
Working closely with the Assistant Director, the Team Leader manages the workload, performance, accuracy, adherence to expected behaviours and supports productive relationships across a large team. Ensuring a safe, organised and harmonious workplace with back-up strategies to cope with unexpected disruption to the Team's operations, is the primary task of the Team Leader.
The Senior Delegate serves as a point of reference for interpretation of relevant legislation and complex case escalations, working closely with the Team Leaders and Assistant Directors to provide direction for the team to achieve quality outcomes for clients. The role also coordinates training for the team which includes identifying and progressing continual improvement activities.
