The Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Asset Management Professional to lead our asset management team. As the Team Leader of Asset Data Systems, your primary responsibility is to develop and oversee the implementation of asset management strategies while ensuring that maintain of robust Asset Databases and Systems are continuously improved upon. Your expertise will be crucial in modelling asset life cycles. This will help determine the optimal solution for renewal treatments, drive optimal asset utilisation, and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation's operations. You will also need to be highly experienced in developing asset systems through software programming, GIS mapping and dashboarding to guide the team towards the delivery of critical systems and essential Asset Data to various units within the organisation.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Contribute to the maintenance, development, and improvement of Council's Asset Management Systems, including the corporate Asset Database, policies, strategies, and plans.
- Develop and implement asset management lifecycle models for the Long Term Financial Plan.
- Manage Council's asset portfolio, ensuring data integrity through regular audits.
- Coordinate asset inspections and revaluations, supporting data analytics for informed decision-making.
- Assist in workflow redesign and operational reviews to incorporate asset management within Council's structure.
- Lead the development of software solutions for enhanced Asset Data collection and improved customer service.Contribute to the reporting of the corporate asset portfolio in annual reports
- Assist in the preparation of relevant Council reports as required.
- Act in the Coordinator Asset Management role, as needed.
- Lead, mentor, and support Asset Officers in their responsibilities.
- Complete other related tasks as required by the Coordinator Asset Management.

You will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Asset Management, Civil Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- A Class C Drivers Licence.
- Proven leadership experience in coordinating high-performing teams.
- In-depth understanding of asset management principles.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated project management expertise.
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, coding languages and GIS applications.
- Knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations, Legislation, Guidelines, Codes, and Council Policies.
- Proficient in Information Technology, including coding for automation, systems integration, and high-level computer literacy (Word, Excel, Access, Power BI).
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills with high-level strategic and analytical thinking.
- Financial analysis skills for budgets and costing of engineering projects.
- Advanced knowledge of asset portfolio financial modelling applications, such as MyPredictor.
- Experience in coaching and educating staff for understanding, participation, and ownership.
- Flexible, innovative, and multi-disciplinary approach to work.
- Strong attention to detail.
The salary range for this opportunity commences at $118,408 (Grade J, Step 1) + 11% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
