Note, this rate is inclusive of a 10% above EBA payment allowance in recognition of any additional overtime, external market remuneration conditions and Council’s operational requirements of this position. Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A,) - Level 8 of EBA5
72.5 hour fortnight

About our opportunity
As our Team Leader Civil Structural, you will lead a team of technical experts responsible for providing Civil Structural engineering advice within the city’s transport system to meet the needs of the community.
In this role you will:
provide a high level of technical expertise and responsiveness to Civil Structural solutions and best practice advice for identified projects, strategic planning, asset management and disaster management.
be a key mentor and provide advise to your team and be expert in your field of engineering within the broader team. You will be recognised within Council as the professional expert in the design of Civil Structural infrastructure.
manage and lead the delivery of Civil Structural projects and delegation of tasks to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and are aligned to strategy. You will act as a point of contact for complex structural design matters by providing expert advice, innovation and problem solving of design and construction related matters.

About you
We are seeking a technical and people leader to take up this exciting new role within the team. You will have experience in the project planning and design for structural infrastructure projects such as bridges and major culverts.
You will bring:
substantial experience dealing with construction related issues relating to structural engineering planning and design.
excellent interpersonal skills that will be key to your success in this role
you will have the ability to influence and negotiate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
you will need to have experience in Civil Structural engineering design development including review, quality management, value review and approval (as a RPEQ).
Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia and have a Bridge Inspection Qualifications not mandatory but highly desirable. You will be a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
