We have an opportunity for a Team Leader, Compliance andInvestigation to be part of our Biosecurity Division within theDepartment of Primary Industries and Regions.
The Team Leader, Compliance and Investigation contributes to thegoals and objectives of the Fruit Fly Emergency Response Program byproviding support to the Manager, Compliance and Investigation inrunning investigations and supporting the Operations team inundertaking their duties under the Plant Health Act 2009. Thisincludes close interaction with the Response’s Market Accessand Operations teams which are currently located in the SARiverland.
The Team Leader will respond to a broad range of complex complaintsand reports, concerning alleged breaches of the Biosecuritylegislation under instruction from the Manager and takingenforcement action where required. The incumbent will undertakeassessment of the potential breach to determine the direction andcharacter of actions to be taken. Working within this context theposition is also responsible for the interpretation of the PlantHealth Act, 2009, making applications for warrants, and for thesubmission of briefs of evidence to the Crown Solicitor forconsideration of the breach's prosecution potential or merit.
Investigations delivered by the incumbent may involve significantinteragency collaboration, necessitating considerable communicationand interpersonal skills to develop and maintain criticalrelationships and networks across a broad stakeholder base.

Special Conditions

Requirements
- Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive.
- Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required.
- You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations.
- Preparedness to undertake training and participation in emergency management activities.
- The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
Remuneration
OPS5 - $80,877 min - $86,461 max per annum, plussuperannuation
