Job description

Industry super funds CareSuper and SpiritSuper are pleased to announce that they have entered into a binding agreement to merge the two funds. Our funds offer strong outcomes, award-winning service, product excellence and financial sustainability to members across Australia. The merge comes after an extensive due diligence process and is expected to be completed in late 2024.

If you're passionate about delivering outstanding member experiences and want to lead a team of caring and enthusiastic Insurance and Claims experts, we want to hear from you. Elevate your career and be a crucial part of redefining what exceptional member experience truly means in the super industry!

About the role.
Picture yourself being the Team Leader of our founding Insurance and Claims experts in our new fund! You will enable your team members to provide professional, compassionate, and empathetic Insurance and Claims services to members and their beneficiaries, growing and learning together on the journey.

As a Team Leader, you ensure that claims are appropriately managed according to legislative and regulatory obligation, approving cases in accordance with approved delegations. You will coach, develop, and manage your team, meeting all deadlines and service standards, while continually improving upon existing processes. No two days will be the same!

From day one, you'll be engaged with knowledgeable buddies and trainers, ensuring you're not just learning the ropes but diving headfirst into an enriching training and leadership experience. The training program unfolds gradually, starting with the fundamentals of Insurance and Claims in the super world. As you progress, brace yourself for an upskilling adventure, navigating the intricacies of superannuation legislation and compliance as you delve into the more complex dimensions of your role.

Who are we looking for?

We want people with spirit! We are looking for:

  • Enthusiasm for ensuring all decisions and outcomes are in the member’s best interests – a strong commitment to member obsessed culture
  • A natural conversationalist, with a strong ability to empathise, understand member’s needs and provide tailored solutions
  • Experience in holding people accountable for their performance and/or behaviours through performance management and disciplinary processes
  • Experience in a leadership role, preferably in superannuation or group insurance, demonstrating the achievement of results in line with team KPI’s and strategic objectives
  • Demonstrated experience in managing change through to implementation within a team environment
  • Very high level of confidentiality, discretion, and judgement
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional analytical skills and interpretative skills
  • Ability to manage conflict, negotiate and maintain professionalism
  • You’re able to work in the new operations hub in the Melbourne CBD three days a week and from home two days a week
  • You must be available to start on Monday 12 August 2024
  • Available to work between 8am to up 5pm Monday to Friday (7.5 hours a day).
Applicants with Superannuation and/or Insurance and Claims experience and RG146 certification are preferred but not essential.
