About the Role
The Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board is looking for a talented leader to fill a contract for just under 12 months, leading a team of landscape officers and delivering of a range of programs and projects in accordance with the Eyre Peninsula Regional Landscape Plan priorities.
Working with the Manager Landscape Operations, this role is a key driver for contributing to effective community engagement and operational delivery of landscape management objectives at the district level.
Operational priorities include, pest plant and animal control, sustainable agriculture, water resources, biodiversity, community engagement and compliance requirements under the Landscape South Australia Act 2019. The Team Leader works across the district and regional boundaries to coordinate and integrate community and stakeholder engagement in landscape programs and projects.
It's a role that offers abundant variety, and challenge, while providing opportunity for the successful candidate to flex their full range of skills.
Additionally, the region boasts wonderfully rugged coastlines, plentiful seafood, sandy beaches, spectacular national parks and abundant wildlife, all of which contributes to making our community a very special place to live and work.
About You
You are committed to environmental sustainability and love working with a range of stakeholders with interests in land management, biodiversity, and sustainable agriculture. You’re a hands-on leader who enjoys achieving targets and empowering others to achieve theirs.
You will bring technical expertise, qualifications in environmental science or natural resources management (or similar), along with stakeholder management skills and you’re keen to join an employer who supports your learning and growth.
You will relish being part of a professional team who are committed to the sustainable management of our precious landscapes – soil, water, pest plants and animals, and biodiversity.
About the Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board
The Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board works with community, industry, and other government agencies to sustainably manage our region's natural resources, with an emphasis on protection and restoration of our soil, water management, biodiversity, and pest plant and animal control.
The Eyre Peninsula region covers approximately 80,000 square kilometres and includes part of the upper Spencer Gulf, the city of Whyalla, across the southern boundaries of the Gawler Ranges, past Ceduna to the edge of the Nullarbor Plain and south to the fishing hub of Port Lincoln. The Eyre Peninsula supports a population of just under 60,000 people and is the traditional lands of First Nations peoples.
Other key functions include development of water allocation plans for prescribed water resources and operating as the relevant authority for a range of water, land protection and animal and plant control activities.
