Address Are you a skilled and experienced mechanic with leadership qualities? Mackay Regional Council is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Mechanical Workshop Team Leader at our Mirani Depot.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team of mechanics and workshop staff to ensure the effective operation of the mechanical workshop.
Provide competent on-the-job supervision of the Workshop Mechanical staff at Mirani with the view to attaining the required standards of plant maintenance and availability.
Coordinate and prioritize daily tasks, repairs, and maintenance activities to meet deadlines and operational requirements.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members on complex repairs and diagnostics.
Monitor inventory levels, order parts and materials, and maintain accurate records of equipment and maintenance history.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, procedures, and standards, promoting a culture of safety within the workshop.
Requirements:
Trade qualification as a mechanic (Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology or equivalent).
Proven experience in a similar role, with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic abilities across a range of vehicles and machinery.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and practices.
Current driver's license (minimum requirement: C class).

Base annual salary $71,115 + Applicable Allowances
