About The Role
This role will lead the delivery of resource recovery services and monitor time and cost of assigned units in line with business unit targets, reporting any variances with recommendations for improvements as necessary.
The role will plan, schedule and allocate staff to allow efficient and safe operation of resource recovery collection and transport vehicles.
You will contribute to the business unit's commercial profit and growth objectives through superior management, cost control and mentoring of drivers. Revenue and expenditure must be maintained within 5% of the revised budget.
About You
To be successful in the role you will require qualifications in Transport and Logistics, Engineering, Environmental Science and/or significant industry experience where the provision of specialist technical advice was required. A "HR" Drivers Licence is desirable.
You will have supervisory experience and/or qualifications in the waste management, resource recovery or related industry and experience in coordinating staff and resources to ensure tasks are completed in accordance with accepted standards, policies and procedures in line with departmental performance standards. You should have extensive knowledge of the waste industry and extensive knowledge of waste collection, treatment, transport and disposal practices used the industry and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
You will have the ability to lead a large team of operators in remote operational environments and experience managing all aspects of team performance and strong problem-solving abilities. You will have experience with business management systems required to operate a commercialised waste business unit e.g. vehicle management software, financial management and budgeting tools, customer service systems. A comprehensive knowledge of statutory requirements relevant to the waste industry is required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence positive change will be evident.
