A little about the role
Our team of Social Workers and Case Workers provide service delivery throughout Victoria, across the continuum of care within our Foster Care and Family Services Programs.
We’re currently looking for a Team Manager to join our Family Services Program, leading an established team of Family Preservation and Reunification Response Practitioners on a 12-month fixed term contract.
Our Family Services team provide support and engagement which enables children and young people to safely remain with, or be restored to their families. This support includes conducting needs and risk assessments, developing time limited intervention plans, and partnering with Parents, Children and Young People, Carers and Stakeholders.
Our office is located in Clayton, however we service the Bayside/Peninsula area, facilitating direct work with families in their homes. Hybrid working options are available!
As a Team Manager in our Families team, you will be responsible for:
- In accordance with the family’s goals, support the practitioners to improve the parent(s) skills in parenting their children safely by providing, counselling, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, group work and practical support to families, paying particular attention to impacts of parental drug use, mental health problems, family violence, child abuse and neglect.
- Using the Key to Care Framework, work collaboratively with practitioners to ensure families identify goals and develop and implement therapeutic plans in their own homes.
- Work with evidence informed practice and evidence-based programs to identify any needs of the children, young people and families to increase resilience
- Provide Practitioners with appropriate levels of support and supervision to fulfil their responsibilities and meet the internal and external program requirements.
The base salary for this position is $101,205 - $105,670 per annum + super + vehicle & fuel card + NFP salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum.
About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll come with:
- Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or other relevant recognised Qualification
- Demonstrated leadership and/ or supervisory experience
- Prior experience working with and/or on behalf of children, young people and families
- Have experience and understanding of Child and Family Service, Child Protection and Court Orders
- Experience in undertaking comprehensive assessments to develop, implement, monitor, and review service delivery and support plans
- Tenacity, diligence and resilience - with the ability to adopt a creative approach to problem solving in a fast-paced environment
