About the Role:
WorkPac are currently seeking a Technical Engineer to join our leading mining client, based in Perth. The position is Monday to Friday roster for an initial 12 month duration, potential to extension.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand and champion Foundry platform and tools
Understand how the business uses data in existing tools and map business data into the Foundry Ontology (data asset)
Identify relevant datasets through deep engagement with user workflows
Liaise with IT departments to secure maintain new datasets and maintain pipelines
Ingest data from various sources onto the Foundry platform - write basic transformations and derive new datasets against the business Ontology (data asset)
Transform structured data from numerous sources into productionised workflows.
Develop applications using Foundry's suite of products (Workshop, TypeScript Functions, Actions)
Develop timeseries analysis
Perform ad-hoc data analysis
Balance stakeholder expectations against project objectives, value, given time and resource constraints
Work with the customer to build bespoke applications for user groups
Work with end users in an iterative process to implement solutions - meet with users to understand the critical questions they need to answer and locate their biggest pain points
Work with Technical Lead and other Foundry engineers to implement robust solutions which maximise platform capability and minimum technical debt
Look for opportunities to improve current business processes with quick solutions
Provide support for Foundry applications (rotational basis)
Communicate issues/blockers with Project and Technical Leads
Skills and Experience:
Experience with piping and data engineering is a must
Experience with large columnar datasets that require transformation (Proficiency in PySpark is a plus)
Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript
Experience with UX/UI design is a plus
Experience with data modelling is a plus
Mining or Rail experience preferred
