- Base Salary base $83,384 + 17% Superannuation
About the opportunity
Based out of the Hub and various locations within the USYD Main campus, this exciting role supports the technical operations of the MyLab Hub including safe management of dangerous good stores. Provides sound, technical support and advice to all users of the facility and supports logistics of delivery items to end users across campus. They will also ensure that the Hub is properly maintained, that all storage, handling and transportation equipment is functioning correctly that the relevant Work, Health and Safety standards of the work area are met.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- management of hazardous and dangerous goods including waste
- customer service and stakeholder management
- manual handling of deliveries and equipment with some heavy lifting
- ensure workflows are actioned to provide professional, timely, high-quality service
- deliver goods across campus
- purchase and receive materials, consumables, lab equipment
- managing inventory and supplies for the Hubs across the campus
- provide technical support and assistance to academics, students and other staff
- use best practice with manual handling techniques
- use best practice with relevant Work, Health and Safety (WHS) requirements
- maintain the workplace to ensure research, learning and teaching requirements are met
- knowledge-share and work collaboratively with other Technical officers
About you
- experience in a warehouse or logistics role with extensive manual handling
- experience within a facility that handles hazardous materials preferred
- sound working knowledge and awareness of safety regulations and operating procedures within chemical storage environments
- excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- sound working knowledge and acute awareness of safety regulations in a hazardous good store
- hold a valid NSW drivers license.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
