Technical Officer/Scientific Officer - Histology

The Opportunity

Our laboratory team work side by side with our Pathologists to deliver the right result, to the right patient at the right time. We have embraced a xylene free environment, lean principles, technology and digital platforms within our laboratory.

As a Histology TO/SO, your duties will include: 

• Embedding and Microtomy
• IHC and special stain 
• Frozen Sections
• Troubleshooting matters by coming up with unique solutions
• Management of stock to ensure effective delivery of our services
• Continuous development in the role with a key focus on improving processes

About You

• 3+ years experience in routine Histology techniques
• Bachelors Degree in Science or equivalent qualification 
• You want to keep learning and developing
• You are a positive person who likes working both with a team of peers and a team of your direct reports, with a friendly, can-do attitude
• You are capable of balancing both multiple short and long term initiatives as well as the daily needs of your team
• You enjoy solving problems and overcoming challenges
• You are comfortable using new technology
• You possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including a professional telephone manner
• You have great attention to detail and have the need to do things right
• You possess a professional attitude towards confidentiality
