The roleAs our High-Speed Ethernet/IPTechnical Sales Support person, you will be an integral part of our team, supporting internal sales and external clients.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Developing sales and consulting on technical applications across the AusOptic product set, particularly in High-Speed Ethernet (100/200/400/800G), Optical Transport Networking, Test and Measurement equipment (e.g. OTDR, PON, and Ethernet testers).
- Responding to new and existing business enquiries, building sales through identifying and solving client needs.
- Demonstrating products and equipment for pre-sales and presenting to clients in person.
- Work closely with sales and product divisions to drive new initiatives and opportunities.
- Quoting technical solutions comprising multiple hardware vendors and lead times.
- Post-Sales Support, assisting with technical questions or issues following delivery.
- Maintaining relationships with vendors and staying up to date with technology trends and client requirements.
- 2+ years of experience working with IP/Packet and Optical Transport Network technologies and their applications (dark fibre, Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM), Ethernet, data centres, communications infrastructure).
- Ideally you'll have solid technical skills in one, or both of, the Ethernet and Optical Transport areas (able to design, specify and consult on client implementations).
- In the ethernet realm:
- Network design including switches, routers, media converters, BERT (bit error rate testing), and commissioning,
- In the optical area:
- Optical Network design with a solid understanding of CWDM/ DWDM, FTTH, FTTA, Media converters, Transceivers, CD, PMD, OTDR and BERT testing and commissioning.
- Supporting both internal staff and clients with training and technical.
- In the ethernet realm:
- If you have only one of the core areas we can provide training in the other area for a suitable candidate.
- Able to work both independently and within a team.
- Ability to relate well with IT and engineering stakeholders for client support and project delivery.
