Everyone starting in a new role will be welcomed into the team and given all the training and support needed. As part of your comprehensive induction, you will be provided with all the equipment required for your role.
As a Technical Support Officer, you will support NRG on all aspects of permitting, incident management, invoicing and office administration as required, so an adaptable, flexible approach is necessary. You’ll need to be professional, efficient and well-organised, with a proactive approach and attention to detail. Capable of planning and prioritising your workload, you’ll also need the people skills to enable you to understand and meet the needs of our internal & external customers.
You must be numerate, competent in using standard word processing & spreadsheet packages and be willing to learn to use in-house computer systems. You will be required to undergo additional security checking for this role.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role
Our Nuclear Regulation Group is responsible for regulating the disposal of radioactive waste at sites across England. Whether it is an operational power station, a site undergoing decommissioning & clean-up or a new build project, we work with nuclear operators and other stakeholders to ensure the highest levels of environmental protection are achieved.
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, vocationally trained or able to demonstrate comparable knowledge/ aptitude in relevant subjects.
- Administrative support
- Collating data and information and storing/managing data using spreadsheets/databases.
- Providing a focal point for data/record/knowledge management for a team
- Supporting working/task groups and organising effective meetings.
- Providing a polite and professional service to teams and customers.
- Coordinating timely input into plans and reports from a number of different teams/individuals and tracking progress/ performance/expenditure.
- Working under own initiative and as part of a team.
- Using good written and spoken communication skills to convey information to colleagues and customers.
- Being open to change and new ways of working.
