About Us
Our client a Japanese multinational electronics company, is known for its range of Communication products with their durability, reliability, and advanced features, providing wireless communications products and systems for public safety, commercial, and government customers. They are currently looking for a Technical Support Specialist to join their Sydney office.
About the role:
- Troubleshoot technical issues and repair faults in radio configurations.
- Identify solutions for configuration, hardware, and software problems.
- Communicate with dealers and sometimes customers directly.
- Provide timely and accurate customer feedback.
- Maintain knowledge of new products, field changes, and advisories.
- Support the roll-out of new software releases.
- Document technical activities and maintain system expertise.
- Manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Complete special assignments and projects as directed.
- Establish and maintain effective communications.
- Act as initial contact for dealers, handling complaints as appropriate.
- Exercise sound judgment and escalate issues as needed.
- Function as a team member within the Technical Support Department.
- Support, diagnose, program, and configure two-way radio systems.
- Resolve system issues remotely and capture data for engineering.
- Set up and utilize testing equipment for device and system tests.
- Verify warranties with dealers and manage replacements and repairs.
Skills and Experience:
- Certificate III or higher in Electronics and Communications Engineering or equivalent trade certificate(s)
- Minimum 8 years of technical experience in electronics or related field
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Analogue, P25, and DMR radio technologies
- Understanding of Radio spectrum and ACMA regulatory landscape
- Network-based radio link systems
- High level of understanding of Wireless and IP networking
- Experience in successfully managing in-field customer problem resolutions of radio system equipment
