Reporting to the Network and UC Lead, the Telecommunications Network Engineer is responsible for supporting the existing network environment while being instrumental in the ongoing enhancement projects and programs across a vast distributed network.
This role is accountable for the architectural design support, implementation, security, and ongoing management of the WesTrac networking environment.
Location: South Guildford, WA
Roster: Monday - Friday, 8.5-hour days
To be successful the following is required:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, with relevant certifications in Network and Network Security (CCNP, CCIE)
- A proven record of accomplishment in Cisco technologies with certifications preferred
- Configure and optimise Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches, Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers, ISE, DNA and Palo Alto Firewalls
- Hands on experience with IP, VRF, Switching and Routing Protocols (Spanning Tree, LACP, VLAN, QoS, BGP, OSPF)
- Hands on experience and knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Network Access Controllers Switch Stacking, DNS, DHCP, SSO, Active Directory, Network Access Controllers
- Work closely with the Cyber Security teams on network security compliance as well as technical control implementation where required
- Ability to drive outcomes while adhering to architectural, operational and security objectives
- Supporting multiple networks over geo dispersed locations
- Liaising with vendors, suppliers, service providers and external resources
- Demonstrated ability to work within an environment of competing priorities with strict deadlines, effective interpersonal and written communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team
- Organised, methodical, and detail-oriented, with outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage and report on multiple tasks concurrently, prioritising efforts, managing time effectively, and requiring minimal supervision in the execution
