What you'll be doing
The Allied Health Assistant will provide assistance and support to the physiotherapy staff in their duties as directed and delegated.
The assistant will work as a member of the team under the direction and supervision of Physiotherapists. A key part of the role is assisting physiotherapy staff in the Orthopaedic Clinic. They will also be responsible for maintaining stock levels, equipment maintenance and general tidiness and cleanliness in the Physiotherapy department, the Hydrotherapy Pool and the plaster room in the Orthopaedic Clinic.
- Allied Health Assistant Certificate 4 or equivalent professional qualifications or working towards qualification.
- Experience working with children and families. Experience working with people with disability and/or in a hospital or healthcare environment.
- Highly effective interpersonal and written communication skills and computer literacy (including use of applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Understanding OH&S requirements of the role and physical ability to move / transfer clients & equipment safely.
- Ability to work independently and within a team; and ability to work under instruction.
- Proven ability to prioritise a number of competing demands/tasks & manage time effectively & efficiently.
