Our purpose is ‘creating sustainable connected communities’ and we are now seeking to appoint a Trainee Draftsperson / Project Coordinator to work as part of our Project Assurance Team.
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are currently seeking a Trainee Draftsperson to join our team in any of our office locations, however Pakenham would be the preference. This position has become available due to the growth of our business across Melbourne. In this role you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient project delivery. The traineeship spans across multiple divisions, you will learn all about the power industry, be exposed to how underground power cables are laid, learn the significance of overhead power lines, surveying, 3D scanning & modelling and record that information into AutoCAD for drafting purposes.
Your responsibilities/training will include:
- Support in Receiving, checking, and collating field data pick-ups: You will be responsible for carefully reviewing field data and identifying any outstanding works that need to be addressed.
- Learning & ultimately being able to complete/produce "As-built" plans: Using your newly found or experience in AutoCAD and Civil3D, you will create accurate and detailed "as-built" plans for distribution, providing crucial documentation for ongoing projects.
- Assisting in the tracking of team drafting projects: You will help oversee and assist managing the progress of drafting projects within the team, ensuring timelines are met and tasks are completed efficiently.
- Production of Contestable Works - Construction Variation Forms: You will learn & ultimately be responsible for ensuring that any necessary variations are properly documented and communicated.
A company Mobile phone, Laptop and work uniform will be provided upon starting the position.
Any background in drafting, project coordination, AutoCAD and Civil3D would be desirable but not necessary, this role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to our continued success. ABOUT YOU

You will be someone who enjoys problem solving and continuously seeking new ways of doing things to maximise efficiencies. You genuinely enjoy helping people by providing efficient and friendly service and prefer to work in a team orientated environment. You must a can-do attitude and are not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get the job done. Qualification in technical drawing and design highly desirable. Experience using AutoCAD is essential. Experience with Microsoft Navigation will be beneficial. You will hold and maintain a current VIC Drivers licenses as well as General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
