A large local council is seeking an experienced IT Project Coordinator to support projects across a large program of work.
Responsibilities
- Provide timely project support and coordination for assigned projects under the direction of the Manager Technology Enablement, Manager Digital Transformation Project and PMO.
- under guidance of managers to develop communications, presentations and reports to support stakeholder and management briefings.
- general administrative assistance as required, such as taking meeting minutes, assisting during presentations, organising room bookings, raising requisitions, maintaining purchase orders, and monitoring project health and status reports.
- to facilitate effective communication within project team and with key stakeholders.
- to ensure project compliance with PMO standards and best practices in project documentation, including record keeping and version control principles.
- project plans and documents including project schedule, Kanban board and RAIDs log to ensure tracking, status, and versions, or as directed.
- to manage and track project team workload.
- support for Council’s procurement activities such as SOW preparation, evaluation management and execution.
- escalation activities to clear project blockers.
- with project governance activities including stakeholder approvals, scope change management,
- Undertake delivery activities including deployment preparation and execution, transition to operations team, defects management during SIT, UAT and Hypercare, and environments setup.
Experience
- broad and substantial experience as a Project Coordinator in technology project activities.
- understanding of project management and governance activities.
- good understanding of scheduling basics using MS Project.
- experience working with Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
- strong organisational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- ability to self-manage, prioritise project requirements and meet deadlines; exhibit attention to detail and self-organisation in managing workload in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to provide timely feedback on project communications and artefacts to ensure they meet a high standard of clarity, precision, and presentation.
- experience in stakeholder engagement and the ability to provide clear, purposeful, and relevant communications to stakeholders at all levels of Council.
