The Abra base metals project is an underground lead-silver mine in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The project site lies between the towns of Newman and Meekatharra.
Now in the Production phase, the operation has a projected 13-year mine life producing a high-value, high-grade lead-silver concentrate containing approximately 95kt of lead and 805koz of silver per year after ramp-up.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Abra Mining Pty Limited is seeking a Trainer/Assessor for a full-time position and will be primarily responsible for:
- developing training systems and packages;
- delivering and assessing competency and training;
- identifying and rectifying capability and competency gaps;
- developing positive relationships with stakeholders through coaching and mentoring; and
- maintaining reporting mechanisms.
- assisting production teams in the development of Training Needs Analysis;
- promotion of a positive and safety-focused culture;
- ensuring that risks are identified, assessed, and controlled for all activities.
- driving continual improvement initiatives across the WHST department.
- evaluation of training materials for improvement
- identifying opportunities and solutions to improve processes and performance.
The successful candidate will have:
- Cert IV Training and Assessment
- Class C license
- MR/HR License desirable.
- High Risk Licences inc. LF, WP, CN (or above) and desirable DG (or above)
- National Competencies: Working at Heights and Confined Space
- Knowledge of INX systems (InTuition and Moodle)
- Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) knowledge
- Pronto knowledge/experience desirable
- Understanding of the WHS Act 2020 and WHS Mines Regulations 2022
- Understanding of Vocational Education and Training and the requirements of the Australian Quality Training Framework
- Minimum 5 years processing or mining/construction industry experience with a broad range of training experience
- Experience in developing and revising training systems and documentation
- Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders
- FIFO 8:6 roster ex Perth or DIDO ex Meekatharra and surrounds
- New camp, with a sports court and a fully equipped gym
- Each camp room has its own ensuite
- Work alongside a collaborative inclusive team
