Training Officer - MiningGlencore’s McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world class zinc lead mine with a long future. You’ll find our mine in the Gulf of Carpentaria 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola. We produce and process zinc, lead and silver from our open cut mine. It is then stored and transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and shipped to our customers worldwide. About the role:The role of the Mining Trainer primarily ensures that new personnel to the Mining Dept. are adequately orientated to area and role to allow personnel to undertake tasks in a safe and timely manner.The role is focused on new production personnel integration and is integral to the execution of the Mining Training Plan.
Accountabilities:- Induction & orientation of new Mining Production personnel to role.
- Development and activity coordination of the weekly Mining Training Plan.
- Facilitating training forecast meetings with Mining leaders.
- Assist in the development, review, and implementation of Mining training material.
- Actively promote the Site TNA and facilitate training to meet training requirement compliance.
- Adherence to the Training Management Procedure and Mining Training Procedure.
Successful applicant will have:
- Cert IV Training & Assessment (TAE40116 preferred)
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Proven experience operating CAT Haul Trucks as a minimum.
- Demonstrated experience in the Mining industry with a focus on surface production in hard rock mines.
- Proven experience in a similar training role. Including ability to develop training material to align with the National benchmark.
- Ability to present information in group settings and communicate information to all levels of the business.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills, including planning concepts.
- Experience in using all aspects of the Microsoft Office suite.
