About the role
We are seeking a Transfer Pricing Manager to become an integral part of our dedicated team of Transfer Pricing professionals. Responsible for managing, reviewing and administering client work; leading and developing a team of staff, your key focus will be to grow the Transfer Pricing practice in the Sydney market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, proactively winning work and contributing to business development opportunities (with a focus on the Sydney market)
- Develop and articulate solutions to complex Transfer Pricing issues, working with stakeholders of the firm, clients and tax authorities
- High level management of the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding consulting projects; ensuring technical excellence and taking a practical business driven approach
- Identify opportunities to involve other technical disciplines to expand the scope and value of services delivered to clients
- Identify and manage areas of risk for clients and the firm, consulting appropriately
- Ensure day-to-day delivery of exceptional client service
- Build commercial networks / relationships, both internal and external; managing resulting work flow of opportunities
- Help junior members in the Transfer Pricing team to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring
- Contribute to people initiatives, including retaining and training our staff
- Involvement in the management of the team both strategically and operationally; managing junior staff development and assignments
Key Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 4-5 years’ experience working in the Transfer Pricing environment
- Ideally be a fully qualified CA/CPA or have completed a Masters of Tax
- Strong Transfer Pricing technical skills with experience across all relevant areas
- Experience in serving financial services TP clients is a bonus
- Ability to apply innovative and flexible solutions to meet clients’ needs
- Strategically aware and committed to delivery of exceptional client service
- Present professionally and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Client-focused with strong client relationship management skills and ability to develop high quality outputs
- Negotiation skills - able to sustain opinion and handle challenges
- Business development skills - ability to identify and convert opportunities to sell work
- Effective time management - ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlines for a large client base
- Enthusiastic team player with ability to create, sustain and lead effective teams
- Excellent staff leadership skills and have prior experience in managing a group of people
- Experience of coaching and developing more junior staff
- Be technically proficient and up to date with taxation law and accounting developments. The Manager must be able to competently review client work (prepared by junior staff members) and be able to identify issues and opportunities to value add
- Ensure delivery of quality work and take day to day leadership of delivery team
- Change-orientated with a consultative and flexible approach to tasks
