Transport Administration Assistant

About Us:    

Handybin Waste Services is a 100% Australian owned and locally operated company that has been servicing the beautiful Coffs Coast Region since 1990’s. We are the region’s largest provider of waste services, delivering over 60,000 waste collection services each week to homes and businesses on the Coffs Coast. We provide an extensive range of commercial waste and recycling services to a broad range of businesses, including, schools, hospitals, retail, holiday parks and more.

The Role:

We are currently seeking a Transport Admin Assistant to join our team in Coffs Harbour, NSW. This role assists the Transport Manager with coordinating the day-to-day operations of our waste collection fleet and personnel to meet contractual, client and customer service expectations.

About You:

You will be reliable and able to provide efficient day-to-day support to the transport operations team.  Working in a dynamic environment, you will have the ability to learn quickly, demonstrate a willingness to undertake any task at hand, and have excellent problem solving and time management skills.

The ideal candidate has:

  • A positive attitude.
  • High standards of professionalism, honesty, integrity, and accountability
  • Solid time management skills and ability to meet compliance and transport department deadlines.
  • Monitor driver fatigue breaks and report compliance issues to the Transport Manager.
  • Strong attention to detail.

About this Role:

This position is a permanent, full-time Monday to Friday, reporting directly to the Transport Manager. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Transport Manager to prepare daily staff rosters.
  • Prepare daily Timesheets for approval by the Transport Manager.
  • Check weighbridge dockets, truck sheets and associated documentation.
  • Constantly monitor progress of all drivers and vehicles against rostered routes.
  • Fill in daily operations documents for approval by Transport Manager.
  • Maintain key transport systems such as training registers and vehicle lists.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience in administrative roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in transport or the waste industry is not essential but would be considered beneficial.
