Job Description:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Transport Company Manager to oversee our daily operations and ensure our business processes are efficient and effective. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in operations management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive performance and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor fleet performance and implement corrective actions as per guidelines, identifying equipment efficiencies and pursuing enhancements.
- Oversee daily operations, including production, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and quality.
- Maintain fleet servicing and maintenance schedules for both local and long-distance driving needs.
- Uphold compliance with legislative and occupational health and safety (OH&S) guidelines.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead and manage a team of operations staff, providing coaching and development opportunities.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of operations with other business functions.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and oversee service quality management.
- Ensure inclusion of equipment in load plans prior to use.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance through inspections, repairs, routine upkeep, and procurement of necessary equipment and fuel.
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with customers, clients, and business partners.
- Collaborate with clients to assess their requirements, provide guidance on vehicle options, rates, and obligations, and resolve customer complaints as needed.
- Manage budgets, resources, and timelines to achieve operational goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.
- Coordinate the purchase and maintenance of transport vehicles, equipment, and fuel.
Qualifications:
- Preferred Diploma in Relevant field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in transport management, with a strong understanding of compliance and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, team management and negotiation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in using operations management software and tools.
- Ability to analyse data, make strategic decisions, and drive results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
