About the Role:

Reporting to the HSEQ Manager ANZ, the Compliance Officer provides day to day support to the HSEQ Manager ANZ, ensuring compliance related administrative tasks are actioned and completed in a timely manner whilst liaising with departmental Managers and their staff as required.

In this role, you will:

  • Have Knowledge and In Depth Understanding of NHVR Compliance and Procedures.
  • Maintaining and Reporting on Mass Management, Vehicle Maintenance / Registrations, Fatigue Management in accordance with NHVAS.
  • Maintaining records on driver training, inductions, medicals, non-conformance, and toolbox meetings.
  • Monitor driver work diary records, advising of any clerical or compliance issues.
  • Assisting drivers with work diary queries / amendments as required.
  • Maintain and update WHS records relating to the company's Safety Management System. 
  • Conducting internal reviews - NHVAS and Chain of Responsibility (CoR).
  • Reviewing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Investigating accidents / incidents.
  • Ad hoc admin duties / data entry.
  • Ensure all new staff have been onboarded per company procedures including medicals. Internal / external inductions as required.
  • Maintain and update personnel records as required in Online Induction System.
  • Maintain and update hard copy personnel files ae required.
  • Maintain and update registration records in both hard copy and electronic format.
  • Provide assistance to the HSEQ Manager ANZ regarding process and systems improvements as identified and required by the business.
  • Assist in creating forms and documents as required.

You will be reporting through the HSE department. 

About you 

Here are the skills and qualifications you will need to be considered for this role. 

  • Current hold a Heavy Vehicle class driver’s license. 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role. 
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in an operational transport and logistics business. 
  • Ability to take initiative and work unsupervised. 
  • Confident computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong assessment and report writing skills. 
  • Excellent time management, decision-making, and organisational skills. 
  • Strong knowledge of COR and NHVAS/ WAHVA modules.
  • Knowledge of NHVAS/WAHVA regulations and application for on-roads and OSOM/PBS permits.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Aims to continuously develop oneself and act towards improvements and efficiencies within the business.
  • Willingness to learn.

A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety are preferred but not essential.
