As this role is fully remote, it requires an experienced individual who can work unsupervised to collaborate with remote teams in planning, operations and company fleet. Reporting to the Customer Service Manager (Linehaul), you will be responsible for fleet and sub-contractor management, and will ensure the smooth completion of all transport movements across both the company fleet and sub-contractor network, nationwide.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing freight movements between internal operation sites and all external customers, across regional and capital cities
- Vendor accountability
- Fatigue management and reporting OH&S issues in compliance with legislative requirements
- Collaborate with fleet controllers to optimise company assets at > 95%
- Monitor shipments and communicate delays to customers and carriers
- Regular communication with other PM shift operators and relationship management with carriers, customers and internal teams
- Daily review of rates to ensure requests and shipments have been rated correctly
- Manage System Operational alerts and action them swiftly
- Prior experience in transport, logistics or warehousing and an understanding of logistics/supply chain processes
- Strong knowledge of transport management software (TMS)
- Strong customer service mindset
- Understanding of OH&S and compliance measures
- Experience in process improvement
- Computer literacy (Excel, Sharepoint, Outlook etc.)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team
- Cert III/IV in Logistics Management or similar (highly regarded)
- Understanding of Lean/Six Sigma processes (highly regarded)
