We are looking for a particular style of Restaurant Manager with high energy, big personality & passion for Ugly Baby our most eclectic & adventurous venue yet!
- Floor & Bar management experience would be beneficial!
At Ugly Baby fun is our focus with flavour-packed plates, vibrant cocktails and frenetic dining taking over the old Shy-Johns site. Fun dining at it’s finest!
This venue – set to open late April 2024 will be a laid-back bar + eatery in the heart of Perth with late night vibes, the kitchen pumping and DJ spinning party tunes til 2am Fri/Sat night!
This kitchen crew are headed up by Michael Antonievich (ex-Subi continental & Servo) with a push for WA local showstopping ingredients, with culinary inspo from the middle east and mediterranean basin.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the award-winning Perth hospitality operator, Nokturnl; the team who brought you The Old Synagogue | Tonic + Ginger, The Beaufort | Lotus and the newly opened South Perth venue, The Station | Ludo.
Stories as the wider venue will be home to a Pourhouse, rooftop, secret bar, three restaurants, various function spaces & coffee shop to make this mega precinct a one stop hospitality hub!
We are looking for individual’s up for the challenge of a venue open and wanting to further their career with a progressive, locally owned company. We also have roles within our existing venues and will be aiming to match YOU to the best suited venue.
A bit about YOU!
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in role as RM or ARM/Bar manager in a similar high volume, fast paced restaurant
- Service is at the heart of everything you do - ensuring all operations are in line for smooth service and a memorable guest experience – this is a hands-on service role
- Ability to lead guests on their experience including table turns, managing guests’ expectations and inspire staff with confidence
- A genuinely charismatic, energetic personality with a desire to succeed
- Ability to monitor employees for professionalism and presentation with performance management
- A positive and respectful management style that will set the benchmark for a dynamic team
- Excellent communication, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Flexible availability, reliable & punctual
- Must have a current WA RSA Certificate and full Australian working rights
- Experience in training of staff in service delivery and motivating upselling of menu and beverage items.
- Attention to detail is also important, an almost obsession with all touchpoints of the visitor experience as it relates to the restaurant, with the proactive nature required to make improvements as necessary.
- Restaurant Managers will also have the ability to effectively balance bookings and flow in the restaurant for maximum financial impact whilst maintaining an excellent standard of service.
- Effectively collaborate, communicate, and coordinate with Directors, Venue managers & Group Operations positions
Candidates must be available weekends & evenings as bulk of trade during this time!

- Above award remuneration - pay dependent on experience.
- Salary hours are 38 - 43 hours, depending on position and style of contract. 2 days RDOs a week, TOIL for public holidays.
