We are a leading Sydney-based construction company founded in 2008. A diversified organisation, Decode covers the full spectrum of the property industry – from varied residential projects to commercial, retail, new-builds, fit-outs, refurbishments, industrial, aged-care and education facilities.
We are currently seeking for an experienced HR & Talent Advisor to join the Human Resources team on a permanent full-time contract.
The HR & Talent Advisor plays a key role in supporting the Human Resources and Talent Acquisition operations of the company. This role primarily involves managing the talent acquisition database, serving as the primary contact for recruitment agencies, issuing employment contracts, overseeing employee onboarding and offboarding processes, and managing the Learning & Development program.
This presents a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving construction business with a robust project pipeline, delivering exciting and technically challenging projects. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in Human Resources or Recruitment. While not mandatory, familiarity with the construction industry is preferred.
The HR & Talent Advisor duties include but are not limited to:
Recruitment
• Support the Talent Acquisition Manager with end-to-end recruitment: draft and post job advertisement, pre-screen candidates, schedule interviews.
• Manage relationship with recruitment agencies and engage recruiters as required.
• Conduct reference checks and pre-employment checks.
Employment Lifecycle
• Draft employment contracts, variation letters and other HR documentation.
• Onboard and offboard employees
• Ensure the payroll team is provided with accurate information about changes in employment conditions.
Learning & Development
• Deliver the Learning & Development calendar for the business, including liaising with trainers to ensure trainings are scheduled monthly and management of the attendance register.
• Maintain employees’ certifications and organise external trainings when required (First Aid certificates, construction tickets etc.)
Employee engagement and recognition
• Organise staff events and engagement initiatives.
• Delivering the reward & recognition program.
• Assist with company events as required.
General Administration
• Provide first line support to employees on all HR queries and issues.
• Maintain employee’s records in Employment Hero and employees’ files.
• Drafts reports ad hoc when necessary.
The ideal applicant will possess:
• Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• For this role, we will only consider candidates with 2-3 years previous experience in a Human Resources or Recruitment role.
• Previous experience in the construction industry will be highly regarded, although it is not a mandatory requirement for this role.
• A qualification in Human Resources is preferrable.
• Knowledge of Employment Hero software is advantageous.
• Proficiency with of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Must have high attention to details.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Position details and benefits:
• This is a full-time permanent position. The working hours are Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm.
