The Role
The key objective of this position is the provision of Underground Field Safety Services at the CSA Cobar Mine.
These roles are offered on a 7/7 rotating day/night roster and are FIFO positions from Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.
Camp accommodation and travel is provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring own health and safety as well as that of all other workers whilst identifying and maintaining safe work practices.
- Conduct and maintain site safety inspections.
- Monitor and review safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate shift reports and registers in line with required standards.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality policies.
- Coach, mentor and develop staff, contractors and stakeholders in best practice safety application.
- Proactively develop relationships by conducting purposeful interactions with all stakeholders.
- Maintain safety education portfolio and awareness levels that support effective safety management.
- Conduct workplace inspections and undertake regular internal safety and environmental audits of the systems and / or associated processes, procedures, and work practices.
- Undertake or assist in accident and incident investigations.
- Promote open discussion of safety issues.
- Identify, track, record and report hazards, incidents, injuries, and health issues.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in relevant mining/industry.
- Ability to produce a National Police Clearance.
- Current Driver’s License.
- Certificate IV in Work Health Safety or equivalent.
- ICAM Lead investigator - Desirable
- Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue - Desirable
- High level of computer skills – MS Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team with minimal supervision.
