We are on the lookout for skilled individuals with extensive underground and/or tunnel boring machine (TBM) experience to come and join Snowy Hydro's 2.0 team as an onsite Underground Site Surveillance Officer. This role is responsible for ensuring that underground development works are being undertaken by contractors, meeting contractual requirements, and construction works are conducted in a way that meets Snowy Hydro's project objectives.

Reporting to the Geotechnical Manager, you will be responsible for:
Ensuring the Employer's Requirements are being met at all times, and the contractor is complying with these requirements
Maintaining communication with your direct manager on the status of issues observed
Actively working with all site parties to achieve the highest standard of works, and to minimise future issues associated with quality, safety and functionality
Conducting daily inspections and keeping records of all the work fronts
Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure the project is complying strictly with the day to day deliverables
Perform on-site Quality Management on civil engineering and construction work on behalf of the 2.0 Owners team
Preparing, reviewing and providing commentary on relevant reports/documentation
Maintaining the highest level of health and safety performance and acting in accordance with SHL Health and Safety policies
A suitable applicant for the role will possess the following attributes:
5 or more years of experience in underground/TBM roles within the infrastructure, construction or related industries
A strong background in underground construction trade/supervision combined with relevant training and experience
Relevant qualifications desirable (degree, trade qualifications)
Strong communication/influencing and negotiation skills
Proven ability to influence, collaborate and negotiate with internal and contractor personnel
Proactive and timely decision-making, problem identification and resolution skills
The ability to work responsibly and effectively both at site and remote from site
