You will design and develop automated procedures and scripts to assist with the effective and efficient operations of the Department's Unix systems. You will apply your understanding of paging, swapping and inter-process communication as you conduct performance analysis to tune systems. You will undertake regular reviews of Unix environment to develop input to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning. You will also utilise your substantial experience in maintenance and operational support of Oracle Linux, Redhat and ZFS Storage Management based systems.Database Systems Administrator: Responsible for the planning, implementation, configuration and administration of the Department's oracle relational database management systems and associated application and utility software. Ensures effective, efficient, and secure availability and continuity of corporate services while developing and maintaining system documentation and ensures its currency. You will provide assistance with design and create databases, provide assistance to developers (particularly Java developers) to write efficient and effective SQL to ensure that the database is able to work effectively with their code.In these roles you will be required to work after hours from time to time, and you will be included in the on-call roster.The attached Job Description Forms (JDF) provides more information about the positions.
