About the Role: As a Utilities Engineer , you will be at the forefront of ensuring uninterrupted operations of critical utilities and services at our state-of-the-art facility located in Ipswich, Queensland. Your role is instrumental in maintaining the seamless functioning of power (HV & solar), refrigeration, heating (biomass HW boiler), organic Rankine cycle generator, wastewater treatment plant, compressed air, and building services. Working within a dynamic environment featuring high-speed automated bottling and canning lines, your efforts will directly impact our ability to meet daily facility requirements without interruption.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Assist in the management of various utilities and services including refrigeration, hot water biomass boiler, organic Rankine cycle generator, wastewater treatment plant, compressed air, and building services.
- Support maintenance and engineering functions as needed, ensuring optimal equipment performance.
- Contribute to commissioning, site acceptance testing, and ongoing optimization of equipment.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality, and sustainability, aligning with company benchmarks and business objectives.
- Adhere to all safety, food safety, quality, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
- Experience in troubleshooting and fault finding.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, Associate Degree (Diploma), or Trade Certificate Level 3 with relevant experience.
- Ability to work autonomously or within cross-functional teams.
- Previous experience in food and beverage manufacturing.
- Proficiency in reading and utilizing schematics, process and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), equipment manuals, and engineering documents.
- Familiarity with developing and improving standard operating procedures (SoPs).
- Additional desirable skills include SAP experience, GMP and HACCP certifications, chemical use training, refrigeration systems experience, AutoCAD proficiency, confined space certification, high-risk work license, boiler and wastewater treatment plant experience, brewing or dairy industry experience, and lean/Six Sigma qualifications.
