Sydney Metro West - Central Tunnelling Package
The AFJV, Acciona Construction Australia Pty Ltd and Ferrovial (Construction Australia) Pty Ltd has been award a $1.96 billion contract to design and construct the Sydney Metro West - Central Tunnelling Package.
Construction includes the delivery of 11 kilometres of twin metro rail tunnels between Sydney Olympic Park and The Bays.
With the project currently in delivery, the Construction Team is looking to engage Water Treatment Plant Operators across our sites located at Rozelle and Burwood.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a background in water or chemical engineering, and a desire for a hands-on role in managing and treating dirty and muddy construction water.
Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Operate and monitor water treatment processes to transform construction site water that is suitable for discharge into stormwater systems.
- Conduct regular water quality testing and analysis specific to construction site contaminants like sediment and pollutants.
- Calibrate and maintain treatment plant equipment used for processes like sedimentation, filtration, and chemical addition.
- Adhere to strict environmental regulations with respect to discharging water and ensure permit compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of plant operations and water quality data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to optimise treatment efficiency.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a demonstrably equivalent qualification.
- Possess a strong understanding of water treatment processes for discharging water from construction sites.
- Be proficient in computer applications, including data analysis software.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a commitment to environmental responsibility.
- Possess strong communication and teamwork skills.
