Soaring out of the success of The Pink Flamingo Spiegelclub (Gold Coast), winner of TripAdvisor's 'Travellers' Choice Award'; Pink Flamingo Spiegeland landed on Brisbane's Northshore in summer 2023.
A custom-designed entertainment destination comprised of food & beverage outlets and a 400-seat, purpose-built Spiegel Pavilion, Pink Flamingo Spiegalnd is home to three world-class resident productions over eight performances each week.
Inspired by the original 1920s Spiegeltent and the NYC Cabaret Club district, our 5-Star rated luxurious entertainment destination is purpose designed with all the comforts of a luxury first-class theatre.
In addition, the venue also plays host to a multitude of private bookings and special events, including hens & bucks parties, weddings, Christmas parties business functions and much, much more.
The Role:
Leading the operational team within the organisation, the Venue Manager is responsible for overseeing the smooth running of event operations and back of house preparation.
Often managing conflicting priorities, the Venue Manager must tactfully navigate the unique challenges facing Pink Flamingo Spiegeland, to ensure the delivery of world-class service to our guests and world-class management of our staff.
A confident, practical and hands-on leader, the Venue Manager plays a pivotal role in accurately and efficiently attending to both internal and external stakeholders.
Specific duties include:
- Manage workforce, including recruitment & training.
- Manage rostering (Deputy) & resourcing to ensure optimum efficiencies and provide monthly reports on workforce efficiencies.
- Oversee opening, set-up and closing procedures for nightly trade.
- Monitor and appraise the performance of staff.
- Handle and respond to guest feedback/complaints, where necessary.
- Manage relationships with food, beverage and merchandise suppliers.
- Manage weekly ordering to ensure food, beverage and retail outlets are suitably resourced.
- Receive weekly stock orders.
- Manage PoS (Ordermate) updates and make changes where necessary.
- Monitor food, beverage and merchandise performance and provide feedback & suggestions to improve offering and profitability.
- Monitor CoGs and report as required.
- Monitor workforce and efficiencies and report as required.
- Direct and oversee monthly stock checks for food, beverage and retail departments.
- Ensure legal compliance, including accurate record keeping, incident management, RSA, etc.
Hours of Work
The majority of shifts are Tuesday to Saturday during afternoons and evenings.
About You
To prepare for this role, you have been working in a fast-paced guest-focused hospitality organisation. You applaud and respect hard work and pride yourself in delivering 5* customer service and developing and training your team to do the same.
Your specific traits, qualifications and experience include:
- Being a hands-on manager.
- Having a minimum of 3 years experience in hospitality management.
- Experience leading a large diverse team of part-time & casual staff.
- Hold a current RMLV.
- Hold a current first aid certificate which comprises the national competencies Apply First Aid and Perform CPR.
- Experience in multi-outlet operations (theatre, hotels or festivals) desirable.
- Understanding the complexities of the live entertainment industry and tactfully navigating conflicting priorities.
- Being highly motivated and results-driven.
