About the RoleWe are seeking applications for the Full Time role of Venue Hire Manager. The primary accountabilities of this position are to maximise revenue from the hiring of QPAC’s theatres and ancillary spaces. This position has a close working relationship with the Executive Director – Curatorial and reports through to this role under the broad direction of the Head of Venue Activation. The roles of Venue Hire Officers report in to this position.
In this role you will:
- Optimally manage the scheduling and hiring terms of all clients in line with the Trust policy on fees and charges in order to maximise the Trust’s profits from hirings each year.
- In consultation with the Executive Director – Curatorial and Head of Venue Activation, identify, develop and prepare business case studies for major hires, presentations and new business opportunities.
- Coordinate process improvements to deliver an enhanced level of repeat business and venue optimisation.
- Collaborate with Event Managers, Front of House, Marketing and Ticketing to ensure smooth coordination of all hires from contract through event delivery.
- Ensure Venue Management software process and training is well documented and delivered for the wider Curatorial team.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external business contacts and hirers.
- Balance the often competing enquiries and immediate demands of internal and external stakeholders, and under the broad direction of the Head of Venue Activation, resolve any presenter issues.
- Develop sales targets which provide revenue growth; develop and implement marketing and sales strategies to identify target markets and achieve set targets; report on sales budgets and targets.
- Manage budget projections, reports and analysis for new, existing and speculative products.
- Develop and implement appropriate customer relationship management (CRM) strategies, including maintaining and growing a commercial client database, develop and nurture relationships with QPAC stakeholders, follow-up on previous clients to drive repeat and regular business and building new partnership opportunities.
- Monitor and ensure that all events booked within QPAC’s spaces align with the QPAC’s brand, curatorial strategy and values.
- Provide daily oversight and management of the Venue Hire team.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for:
- Proven success in achieving strategic business and financial objectives (profit improvement, increased venue utilisation and cost analyses).
- Demonstrated management and implementation of administrative practices including complex contracts and statistical reports.
- A high standard of written and oral communication skills, including the ability to provide a consistently high level of customer service and negotiate at Executive level and with external commercial promoters/hirers.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage a team of people and to work as part of a team environment.
