A permanent position for the role of Venues Coordinator is available within the Community Venues team.
Our Community and Library Venues contribute to the City of Sydney’s vision for a socially just and inclusive city by providing the broader community with access to a variety of venue spaces for a diverse range of activities. The Venues Coordinator is responsible for leading a team of Venue Support officers to maintain the efficient and successful operation of the Community and Library venues.
The Venues Coordinator will be heavily involved in the implementation of a new online booking software and will need to be ready to hit the ground running, building their knowledge of the existing systems and using their skills and experience to support the transition to a new, online system.
We are seeking a highly motivated person with transferrable experience and skills, interested in working in a high paced, challenging environment and leading a small team to deliver tangible community led outcomes.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- experience in customer facing roles and/or of working in community or local government settings with demonstrable experience working with multiple stakeholders and partners
- experience of leading and managing teams in a fast paced operational service environment
- excellent written and oral communication skills, experience of responding to complex, politically sensitive queries and complaints in a timely and effective manner
- experience of delivering whole system improvements, bringing teams along with them as change is being implemented
- an understanding of compliance requirements within local government policies and procedures
- the ability to effectively prioritise high volumes of work and respond flexibly to competing priorities
- experience in business transformation projects is desirable
The role is mainly office based and will require attendance at Community and Library venues for hire.
At the City of Sydney you’ll join a dedicated team where individual effort is part of something much bigger – creating great things for our city’s dynamic future.
