Port Douglas Vets, a local family-operated veterinary clinic established in early 2021, is seeking a Part-Time/Full-time Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. Hours and days to be negotiated with successful applicant.

We focus not only on the pets health but also on the experience throughout the veterinary process, whether that be a bounding puppy vaccination or a quality-of-life consultation. As receptionist and first point of contact, you will play a pivotal role in creating a positive experience for our loyal clientele.
Main duties would include:
- Answering incoming calls, booking appointments, composing and responding to emails, and processing prescription requests.
- Looking after clients and patients at the reception desk, taking payments, and dealing with enquiries.
- Accurately recording client and animal information on our IT system.
- Stock ordering and assisting in general day-to-day duties of the clinic.
- Maintaining the cleanliness in the waiting room area.
- And above all, deliver our high standard of care to animals and their humans.
About you:
- You are a friendly and welcoming face when greeting the client and their pets upon arrival at the practice.
- You have previous reception or front-of-house experience.
- You are presentable, professional, and courteous at all times.
- You are able to provide guidance by keeping yourself fully up-to-speed with the practice services.
- You are able to focus on client needs by being calm and attentive.
- You will bring enthusiasm and drive to your role. Your passion for service is matched with your love of animals.
- You can hold your own and deal with everything that is thrown at you, from comforting a client who has had some bad news about their pet or sharing in the joy of a new puppy’s first visit to the vet.
- Your personality is infectious and along with your colleagues, you create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the practice.
- You have excellent organisational skills.
- You have exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals.
