Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery

Visitor Engagement
The Visitor Experience team works to deliver exceptional experiences across all customer touch points at TMAG. An interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approach is taken across all in-venue and in-person programs, projects, exhibitions, events and activities. As the first point of contact for visitors to the TMAG, the team is committed to the provision and delivery of world-class service ensuring that visitors have a meaningful, engaging, professional and memorable experience.
Duties
- Lead and manage the Visitor Experience team, including induction, coaching, performance management and identification of training needs to ensure optimal performance.
- Foster strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in relation to Visitor Experience planning and logistics, proactively managing risk and issues, optimising Visitor Experience and commercial opportunities.
- Work collaboratively and with influence to support the delivery of TMAG openings and events including public programs, exhibitions and commercial activities and ensuring that the management.
- Promote TMAG as a venue for hire and manage private events by working closely with external clients (corporate, private, colleague and commercial) and event partners to ensure customer expectations are continually met.
- Manage all aspects of the TMAG shop (in-store and online) including merchandise, distribution of catalogues and merchandise, maintain stock and records for sales, ensure the point of sale (POS) system is maintained and operating, propose merchandise options and oversee artist commissions and production as required in consultation with TMAG’s Executive and Curatorial teams.
- Develop and implement strategy, systems and processes, and engagement initiatives to improve operations, strengthen audience/ visitor engagement, and grow earned revenue.
Desirable Requirements
- An awareness of the role museums and/or Art Galleries as interpretative, educational, research, scientific and curatorial institutions
- A current driver licence
