What you’ll be doing in this role
Our Wards person team here at the San hospital, plays a crucial role in supporting our patients and nurses in helping to deliver a positive, welcoming hospital experience for our patents and their families.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Escorting patients to various hospital departments from Radiology & Nuclear Medicine
- Assisting colleagues, as required, with the transferring & positioning of patients
- Transporting medical equipment and other patient related items
- Providing manual handling assistance to Radiology & Nuclear Medicine colleagues
Who we are looking for
- Previous or current experience working in a physical role including pulling and pushing etc as part of the job requirements, whilst also working in a safe manner for both you and others complying with WHS standards and requirements
- To be successful in this position, you must be able to fulfil the physical requirements of the position
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience communicating with patients, their families, visitors, and colleagues in a professional manner
- You’ll be a team player & always ready to provide support when needed
- You’ll be flexible, efficient, motivated, and able to work independently
- Have the flexibility to work across a variety of rotating rosters (including morning, evenings and night duty)
- You’ll be adaptable, willing to learn, and work in a team-orientated, fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience communicating with patients, their families, visitors and colleagues in a professional manner
