The Alexandria office is 15 minutes walk from Redfern or Green Square station, with parking available, 10 minute walk from vibrant Technology Park (South Eveleigh) and we're Monday-Friday office hours.
Your Role:The Warehouse Assistant is what makes the warehouse tick. Under the supervision of our Warehouse Manager, you are responsible for the four main areas of the warehouse system:
- Receiving: Unloading products from delivery, unpacking and checking them in.
- Picking: Using a picking slip, accurately pick orders from our product stock.
- Packing: Carefully and professionally pack an order, ready to send to your customer. We utilize a scan pack system.
- Dispatch: Using our external freight services companies, get the order ready for dispatch in its correct location, with the proper paperwork.
Along with the above, the Warehouse Assistant position may undertake additional warehouse duties, such as stock check, returns, decoration preparation and warehouse maintenance and cleaning.
What you Need
We need you to bring a few skills to the table:
- Ability to stand for long periods and manually lift or carry boxes. You're on your feet and working with stock boxes all day, so physical fitness is required.
- Ability to work as part of a small team. Every team member plays an integral role in ensuring that the warehouse process runs smoothly.
- Strong attention to detail. We depend on one another; so we have each other’s back by ensuring we pass it on right.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to discuss and communicate with the internal team.
- Numerical skills, with a decent grasp of fundamental maths, such as addition and subtraction.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a diverse range of co-workers, suppliers and customers.
- Basic software understanding. Enough to learn your part of a warehouse management system.
Previous experience working in a warehouse would be beneficial but not essential in this role.
