The opportunity:

Masterpet have a great opportunity for a hands-on Warehouse and Distribution Manager with strong relationship and influencing skills to join the team and be part of creating and executing process improvements across the site.

On a daily basis you will be responsible for managing the warehousing and distribution operations for both our Smeaton Grange site and 3PL partners, that provide warehousing and logistics services to the Masterpet business to ensure that our products are delivered to our customers efficiently, in full and on time.

This is a hands-on role which will require you to provide direction to the warehousing teams whilst also ensuring an engaging and safe workplace through strong leadership and strict adherence to the companies OH&S programs. It will be essential that someone coming into this role will be people focused and have an ability to build relationships with teams on the floor as well as cross functionally. 

What you will do:

  • Team leadership including performance management;
  • Meet warehouse and logistic performance targets and service level criteria;
  • Monitor resourcing to manage workflows and provide quick, reliable turnaround of orders;
  • Monitor and implement key controls to ensure inventory accuracy and best practice stock rotations;
  • Review key measures to ensure warehouse is operating at the highest levels of efficiency;
  • Budget management;
  • Lead health and safety disciplines within the warehouse environment;
  • Identify risks and assess and implement controls as required;
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing and Finance teams to ensure alignment and execution of key business objectives;
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with external customers and 3PL.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience working within a Warehouse Leadership role within Warehousing and Logistics environments;
  • Understanding of warehouse fundamentals and experience in compliance management;
  • Ability to demonstrate strong leadership and people skills to build effective teams;
  • Mix of both strategic and operational experience with a continuous improvement mindset;
  • Experience managing inventory control measures within a warehouse environment;
  • Ability to manage activities in line with budgets;
  • Experience managing team working under a collective agreement.
