About the position
The Water Reclamation Facility Operator will undertake theoperational activities to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Wetalla Water & Reclamation Plant, Wetalla Advanced Water Treatment Plant and Toowoomba Service Centre wastewater pumping stations in accordance with Council Environmental authority.
- This is a permanent full-time position based at the WetallaWater Reclamation Facility.
- The base salary for this position is $1,289.14 gross perweek, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.

About the Water Operations Team:
Water Operations forms part of the Water and Waste ServicesGroup (WWSG), which also includes Water Infrastructure Services, Water Project Services and Waste Services. Water Operations is responsible for the operation of Council’s water and wastewater pumping, treatment, and distribution systems toensure customer service standards and legislative compliance obligations are met. The team encompasses personnel from various areas of engineering, operations and compliance. Our team believes in fostering a positive work culture based around quality outcomes,effective communication, transparency, professionalism and respect.
How to be successful in the positon:
Qualification(s), training and/or experience, specific to the role:
- Certificate III in Wastewater Operations.
- Qualifications in Biological Nutrient Removal processes, ora combination of extensive experience, expertise and competence, which enables the incumbent to perform all duties of the position and a willingness to obtain within 6 months of commencement.
- Current “C” class Manual Driver’s Licence
- Current Forklift operator’s ticket or a willingness to obtain within 6 months of commencement.
- Current Confined Space Entry Certificate or a willingness to obtain within 6 months of commencement.
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate or a willingness to obtain within 6 months of commencement.
