- Use front end coding languages and web development skills to develop and maintain the departments’ websites and web applications.
- Have an active working knowledge of back-end coding languages to be able to manage PHP based & data-driven applications
- Knowledge and skills using modern content management systems (i.e. Squiz Matrix CMS), as well as in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
- Ensure technical website development meets Queensland Government Information Standards, accessibility standards, best practice in web, and legislative requirements.
- Provide advice and direction to departmental clients regarding web strategies and solutions.
- Deliver assigned jobs and projects to agreed timelines and within key performance indicators.
- Follow processes and procedures, manage workloads, and provide advice and recommendations to provide quality customer service.
- Provide advice and options on issues and trends relating to technical web development services/solutions to deliver effective, accessible, user-centred, standards-driven websites.
- Develop and maintain departmental technical policies, standards and administrative procedures for web publishing and design.
- Engage with and contribute to the cross-government content community
- Other duties as directed and required. Occasionally, you may be required to work out of hours at times and participate in on-call activities.
- Demonstrated experience developing applications and websites using modern content management systems (i.e Squiz Matrix CMS), JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS
- Experience with the framework/libraries such as AngularJS, VueJS, KnockoutJS, Bootstrap JS, CSS, LESS and SASS
- Any experience with other development technologies such as
- RESTful web services
- PHP and Laravel experience
- Shell scripting
- Git or other SCM
- MySQL
- Mapping solution such as ArcGIS or Google Maps
- Any experience with PowerBI or Looker Studio
- A diploma or degree in information technology, web development or similar from a recognised tertiary institution, or equivalent academic qualifications, is highly desirable.
- Experience in content development and visual communication, website interface design, navigation design, and information architecture would be highly regarded.
